Why…

This webcomic is not meant to relate to neopaganism or Wicca. It’s a story thought up taking while taking into consideration the demonized feminine—female sexuality, childbirth, menses, female voices—infantilized, sexualized, objectified, victimized, falling prey to the tenets of patriarchal thought over the centuries. The idea of complete female autonomy in body and mind and is still a far off yet fascinating idea to me. The patriarchy trickles in, man or woman, victim or profiteer, artist or writer. I shall try my best to be aware of it when it does, at the same time try not to deny its existence. I’m making this story because I can, and have to.

My inspiration includes the Divine Feminine, Hokusai, historical witchcraft, herbalism and other fascinating things I will reveal along the way. If it falls into the realm of Wicca at times it would be purely accidental, I haven’t any in interest in the religion per se, my personal research has fallen mostly into archeological aspects and evidence of the worship of the divine feminine on this here earth.

The art, I know, is far from good, barely up to my own standard, but I’m desperately short of time and am doing my best within the free hours allotted to me.

Note:

I’m using the word ‘hemp’ here because it suits the old world nature of the comic. Cannabis sounded too technical. The word ‘marijuana’ did not come into use until much later. Also, just because I mentioned it as a part of my story doesn’t mean I’m endorsing its usage in any way, so any dumb accusations of that nature will be dismissed. People grew and used whatever they wanted earlier so you have to take it as part of the story.

I beg to differ on the art it is exceptional to say the least. I love Gray scale style artwork. I really like the story line as well. Hope to see more.

  2. Thanks James. I haven’t been around for a while because I can’t decide which project is more important, but I’m so glad you like my comic. Readership makes it all worth it…
